President Buhari Appoints New Acting Inspector General Police (IGP)

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotum Idris as the new acting inspector-general of police.

The appointment was contained in a statement made available to journalists by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

Ibrahim Kpotum Idris was the former assistant inspector-general of police as he takes over from the immediate past inspector-general, Solomon Arase who retired from office on Tuesday 21st June, 2016, after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

Brief Details About Ibrahim Kpotun Idris
The New Acting Inspector of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Kpotun Idris is from Kutigi, Lavun in Niger State. He was born on January 15 1959, and was enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force in 1984. New IGP graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria with a Bachelors degree in Agriculture. He also holds a degree in Law from the University of Maiduguri.
