Driving traffic to your blog/website is a great aspect of blogging, you blog for money and to help people, and for that you have to make your blog read by many people. 90% of my blog traffic is from social media and SEO (search engine optimization). Blogging without driving traffic is pointless, after all what is your benefit from your blog, if you don’t know how to increase blog traffic. I felt compelled to share it with you today.

Social Media

Social Media is a great source for traffic for traffic for newbie bloggers. As a blogger, most especially the newbie, you should start with social media for promoting your blog and blog posts. The biggest social networks where people hang out are Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus.

Facebook should be one of your most important traffic source if you’re starting out with a new site, even old or existing blogger. You don’t even need to have a page with many likes.

Now this is the trick, you just need to be in great Facebook groups to drive high traffic to your website/blog. How to do that? Suppose you’re writing on a topic ‘Tech or Entertainment’, make sure you join the groups that are related to the topic ‘Tech or Entertainment’. And after you are done with the post, just share your post on those sites.

You’ll get traffic from the Facebook in massive amount because you’re posting on specific niche groups where minded people hang out.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization): I want you to know that Search engines are where you get real converting and useful traffic/visitors. Many bloggers ignore this for many reasons, especially due to misunderstanding and misconception, as they start getting traffic from Social media.

If blogging can make money for you, this is where you should be concentrating your energy, you can slow down with Social media after you got the initial traction and concentrate on the search engine optimization, where you can find converting traffic that would bring money to you and increase your blog traffic.

Google plus is a great social network to get traffic. It has some benefits on SEO. Like Facebook, Google plus also have its own version of groups, named communities.

Reddit

If you work well with reddit carefully, you can obtain thousands of visitors and increase your traffic easily from Reddit. Reddit is among the most visited social sites, which receives over two billion hits monthly.

You have to submit your posts on sub reddits, with great titles and tag lines. You can also use it as a content generation method, by observing what the trending reddits are.

Use newsletters

You can send newsletters with the latest articles you have published to your list of subscribers. You can send it daily, weekly or monthly. For me, I think twice a week is more than enough because more than that can annoy your subscribers and make them unsubscribe.
