Checking your bank account via SMS is as simple as sending a text message with your phone. To do this, follow these steps below.
1. Compose a New Text Message as you normally do with your phone.

2. Then Type bal follow by your NUBAN Account Number and Send to 08100550000 eg. If your NUBAN Account number is 1234567890, this is the format you will use. Bal 1234567890 then send it to 08100550000.

3. That's all. Now you will have to wait for a reply. Your account balance will be sent to your phone immediately after sending and delivery.

NOTE:- You can only check your Balance using the New NUBAN Account Number which is 10 digits. The Old Account Number won’t work. Checking is free but your network provider might decide to charge you for each SMS received. Only the phone number you registered with the Bank work perfectly. Hence, you won’t receive any reply using another different phone number other than the one you registered with your bank to receive bank SMS alerts.

So when next you want to check your bank account balance, you can sit at home comfortably and send a text message using the format above, you will receive your balance statement instantly.
