How to Stop Automatic Data Renewal On MTN, Glo, Airtel and Etisalat Network

Sometimes when you purchase a data plan on any Nigerian network, it automatically renews itself once you have airtime which worth buying/purchasing the plan you have already used. Sometimes you might not even want to renew it due to lack of airtime or even lack of money or still because you were not satisfied with the services you just used.

Today i will show you how to disable auto-renewal services in MTN, GLO, AIRTEL and ETISALAT networks.

If you must know, this is the way Nigerian networks make little money from their customers, as they have already programmed their systems to keep deducting your airtime for a particular service you once used once it has expired, until you send a particular code to their server showing that you are no more interested in paying for that plan.

Therefore you can stop this annoying feature of any service provider wiping away your money in the name of auto renewal, which is very annoying.

HOW CAN I DISABLE OR STOP AUTO-RENEWAL ON MTN, GLO, AIRTEL and ETISALAT?

To Stop Auto Renewal On MTN

Send an sms with the word “NO” to 131

To Stop Auto Renewal On ETISALAT

To stop etisalat data subscription auto renewal, dial this code from your phone *229*0# the press the green/send button.

OR Send an sms with the word ” STOP ” to 229

To Stop Auto Renewal On AIRTEL

Send an sms with the word “STOPAUTORENEW” to 440

To Stop Auto Renewal On GLO

Send an sms with the word “CANCEL” to 127

Note:

48 hours or 24 hours before your data subscription expires, you should get a text message informing you of the cutoff date and that the subscription will be auto renewed. It also comes with the code to disable the auto renewal however most users do not get this message or accidentally delete the message.
