BREAKING NEWS: Names And Photos Of 21 Chibok Girls Released By Boko Haram

Boko Haram, on Thursday, October 13, 2016, released 21 of the abducted Chibok girls. The girls were picked up from the Banki area of Borno state by a military helicopter after being dropped off by the terrorists. They were received in Abuja by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo

Recall that On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram abducted over 260 girls was from their hostels at Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno state. But more than 50 managed to escape on the day they were captured. One of the abducted girls, Aminat Ali Nkeki was rescued in May 2016 during a raid on Sambisa forest by the military.

The names of the 21 Chibok girls who were released on Thursday have been made public by the Federal Government. Presidential spokesperson and the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba, released the names late Thursday after the girls met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

10. Deborah Ja’afaru

11. Rahab Ibrahim
12. Helen Musa
13. Maryamu Lawan
14. Rebecca Ibrahim
15. Asabe Goni
16. Deborah Andrawus
17. Agnes Gapani
18. Saratu Markus
19. Glory Dama
20. Pindah Nuhu
21. Rebecca Mallam

According to vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, the 21 freed girls were in good health, but that they were being taken care of in the medical facility of the DSS. He stated that the girls would stay at the medical centre for some time until the government was satisfied that they were okay health-wise, adding that the girls’ parents would be coming to join them on Friday, October 14.
