How to Activate or Deactivate Auto-Borrow Credit on Glo and Airtel Line

It’s no more news that you can borrow credit from MTN, Glo, Airtel and Etisalat. All these networks allow their subscribers to request for airtime in advance for it to be payed back when next they recharge. Glo and Airtel has launched path breaking product called Borrow Me Credit for Prepaid Customers. This is the most innovative service launched by these networks. Currently, when customer runs out of recharge, he has to go to out to buy a recharge card and top up his account. 


With Glo and Airtel Borrow me credit, customer can send request to avail the facility of airtime credit by sending text on the short code.

Note: You must repay borrowed credit before requesting for another one.
Physical and virtual cards can be used to repay the advanced airtime

The service is available to subscribers who meet up with criteria

How do I get to be eligible for this service?
You need to have been a loyal and consistent subscriber on Glo for at least 4 months and have a good usage history.

How to activate Auto-borrow / Borrow Me service on your glo line
For activation
  • Dial *321#
  • Reply with 1 for "auto-borrow" or 2 for “Borrow Me”
  • Choose the amount you wish to be credited with when your call credit gets low
  • Wait for confirmation SMS from glo network
Note: You will be charged a transaction fee of 10 naira for every 100

How to Deactivate Auto-borrow / Borrow Me service on your Glo line
·        1. Dial *321#
·        2. Reply with 1 for “auto-borrow” or 2 for “Borrow Me”
·        3. Select 2 to unsubscribe
·        4. Then wait for confirmation SMS from glo network

How to activate Auto-borrow on your Airtel line
  • Dial *500#  
  • Reply with the correct digit for Auto-borrow (from the option provided) and choose the amount you wish to be credited with when your call credit gets low.
  • Wait for confirmation SMS from network 

How To deactivate auto-borrow on Airtel
  • Dial *500#
  • Reply with the correct digit for "auto-borrow" and choose unsubscribe using the correct digit. 
  • Wait for confirmation SMS from network
