Donald Trump Ex-wife accused Campaign CEO Bannon of Anti-Semitic statements

An ex-wife of Donald Trump's new campaign CEO, Stephen Bannon, said Bannon made anti-Semitic remarks when the two battled over sending their daughters to private school nearly a decade ago, according to court papers reviewed Friday by The Associated Press.

That revelation came a day after reports emerged that domestic violence charges were filed 20 years ago against Bannon following an altercation with his then-wife, Mary Louise Piccard.

Donald Trump Ex-wife Mary Louise Piccard
In a sworn court declaration following their divorce, Piccard said her ex-husband had objected to sending their twin daughters to an elite Los Angeles academy because he "didn't want the girls going to school with Jews."

"He said he doesn't like Jews and that he doesn't like the way they raise their kids to be `whiney brats,"' Piccard said in a 2007 court filing.

Bannon, the former head of Breitbart News, took the helm of Trump's campaign last week in yet another leadership shake-up.The campaign has been plagued by negative stories about staffers, including charges lodged against his former campaign manager following an altercation with a reporter, and questions about his former campaign chairman's links with Russian interests.

Donald Trump's new campaign CEO, Stephen Bannon
Alexandra Preate, a spokeswoman for Bannon, denied Friday night that he made anti-Semitic remarks about the private school. "He never said that," Preate said, adding that Bannon was proud to send his daughters to the school.

According to Foxnews, Trump campaign declined to comment on the abuse charges. But Preate said police never interviewed Bannon. She added that Bannon has a great relationship with his ex-wife and kids.

Trump calls on Clinton to release State schedule

The Donald Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee are calling on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to have all of her daily schedules as secretary of state released before Election Day, after the State Department said Friday it cannot comply with the court-ordered release until after voting.

Donald Trump Calls on Hillary Clinton To Release State Schedule
The Associated Press reported earlier this week, after analyzing schedules released so far, that more than half the people outside the government who met or spoke by telephone with Clinton while she was secretary of state had given money -- either personally or through companies or groups -- to the Clinton Foundation.

“It is unacceptable that the State Department is now refusing to release her official schedule before the election in full,” Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller said after the agency told AP lawyers late Friday that the last of the detailed schedules won’t be release until around Dec. 30.

“Voters deserve to know the truth before they cast their ballots,” Miller continued. “Hillary Clinton should immediately demand that these public records be released before voting begins.”

The State Department has so far released about half of the schedules -- seven months after a federal judge ordered the agency to begin releasing monthly batches of Clinton’s detailed daily schedules, which show with whom she had meetings.

"Hillary Clinton needs to end the stonewalling and either call for their release or release them herself," Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said Friday in a statement. "Failure to exercise transparency will just further prove she isn't concerned with telling voters the truth about her unethical behavior, a pattern that will continue if she is elected president."

According to Foxnews, Clinton said she met with people outside government regardless of whether they gave money or charitable commitments to her family's charity.

"These are people I would be proud to meet with, as any secretary of state would have been proud to meet with, to hear about their work and their insights," Clinton said this week on CNN.

With the foundation drawing continued attention, Clinton promised Friday to put in place additional safeguards to prevent conflicts of interest with the charity should she win the White House.

The foundation issue, along with continued focus on her use of a private email server, has dogged Clinton politically throughout the week, drawing strong criticism from opponent Donald Trump.

Former President U.S.A and Husband of Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton said last week that if she is elected president, the foundation will no longer accept foreign or corporate donations.

5 reasons for PDP's failed national convention

Recall that PDP National Convention that was held in Rivers State on Wednesday, August 17, was disrupted after the main venue for the Convention which is Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, was sealed by the Nigerian police.

PDP has since been embroiled in leadership crisis as Sheriff has refused to step down insisting he remains chairman of the party.

To make matters worse, two separate courts gave conflicting judgment on who should be the chairman of the party. While Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja on June 30, affirmed Sheriff as chaiman, a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, presided over by Justice Abdullahi Liman, affirmed Makarfi as chairman. The party now has two factions, one led by Sheriff and the other led by Makarfi.

Ali and Makarfi at war
While Makarfi has the backing of PDP governors, Board of Trustees (BoT), National Assembly caucus, the state chairmen and stakeholders of PDP, Sheriff is enjoying the support of some lawmakers, some former governors, some sacked National Working Committee (NWC), members and also some stakeholders of the party.

RIvers State PDP State Secretariat
From the look of things, the crisis rocking the party won’t be ending anytime soon as the party is engrossed in no fewer than 15 court cases, all relating to the struggle for supremacy.

According to Naij.com Below are some reasons why the PDP national convention failed to hold at the Port Harcourt stadium as planned.
1. Conflicting court judgment: After the Makarfi-led faction announced August 17 for the party’s national convention, Sheriff’s faction filed an interlocutory application, asking the court to stop the party from going ahead with the planned national convention pending the determination of their substantive suit.

On Monday, August 15, a Federal High Court in Abuja ruled that the convention should not hold. Justice Okon Abang granted an interim order suspending the convention pending the determination of the application filed before him on July 20. On the other hand, a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt gave a comprehensive Order, specifically ordering the PDP to proceed with the convention as scheduled without hindrance.

2. INEC confused: Following the conflicting court orders, the Independent National Electoral Commission was thrown. The commission was confused on whether it should monitor or stay away from the national convention. Justice Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja, warned the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahood Yakubu, not to monitor the convention while Justice Ibrahim Watila of the Port Harcourt division of the Federal High Court asked INEC to monitor the convention.

The conflicting judgments put the commission in a state of confusion.

3. Ali Modu Sheriff’s determination to remain in control: The ousted chairman is one the party’s greatest misfortune. He is determined to remain chairman of the party, insisting his tenure ends in 2018. Despite pleas and moves for reconciliation, Sheriff remains unyielding. He has been fight the leadership of the party with everything he has and all efforts to broker peace between him and Makarfi has hit a brick wall.

At every reconciliatory meeting, Sheriff had insisted being recognised as chairman and to be the one to organise the convention. Sheriff is not willing to embrace until his conditions, which party chieftains have described as difficult, are met. READ ALSO: BREAKING: Makarfi declares PDP convention open (photos)

4. Police intervention: In the early hours of Wednesday, August 17, the Nigerian police sealed the venue of the national convention, Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. The Rivers state government house was shut down by police officers purportedly acting on the orders of the Inspector General of police.

5. The party is divided like never before: Some have described the convention as illegal and a number of the PDP members are not in support of it. Some are of the opinion that the party should have reconciled aggrieved party members before fixing a national convention. At the moment, the party has two factions. Today’s convention may further tear the party apart.

It was learnt that policemen stormed the venue of the convention around 4am on Wednesday.

PDP 2016 National Convention Venue Under Sealed By Nigerian Police.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Donald Awunah, disclosed this during a programme on Channels Television titled, ‘Sunrise Daily’.

Awunah said the primary responsibility of the police was to protect life and prevent crisis. He added that due to the tension surrounding the convention and the conflicting court rulings, the police thought it best to seal off the venue.

He said, “The warring parties need to follow due process to end their crisis through the courts and as a law enforcement agency what do you do? You ensure that there is a superior court order. It is not about taking sides.

“If in the next one hour or two, we get another court order, we will take action. We are there for every Nigerian but when you are the first responder, you have to take action, you have to be proactive.”

Speaking on the same issue, the INEC Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Rivers State, Mr. Aniedi Ikiowak, said that they have not received any order from their Headquarters in Abuja, to be part of the PDP National Convention slated to hold to hold today, in Rivers State.

Nigerian Police Arrest Ogun State Man For Naming His Dog Buhari

Hahaha! I think this is the funniest news trending Nigeria Newspaper. A trader from Ogun State has found himself in handcuffs after allegedly naming his dog Buhari.

Ogun State Trader Name His Pet Dog "Alhaji Buhari
According to Vanguard, the trader, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, of No 10, Omikunle Street, Sango-Ota, Ogun State, was reportedly arrested last weekend, after one of his neighbours of Northern extraction complained bitterly that he named his dog after his father, Alhaji Buhari.

Chinakwe has reported that his neighbor had threatened to kill him, should he be released, to which he responded that the man should instead kill his prized pet and consume the meat thereof.

Chiedozie, a relative of the suspect, has since complained that Chinakwe is being persecuted with no just cause, given the fact that he is a lover of dogs.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesman for the Ogun State Police, has since confirmed the arrest, stating that the dog will be used as evidence against the suspect.

“I have made enquiries. The man bought a dog and inscribed Buhari on both sides of its body. One Mallam lodged a complaint and when our men got there, we found out that it was true. You know such thing can cause serious breach of the peace and ethnic or religious unrest. We are charging him to court for conduct likely to cause a breach of peace,” Oyeyemi said.

Panic in Imo state: Igbos clash with Hausas, 3 killed (photos)

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), two women and a man were murdered at Akokwa community in Ideato Local Government Area on Friday, August 12.

DSP Andrew Enwerem, the police spokesman who confirmed the incident in a chat with NAN on Friday in Owerri, said some others sustained injuries.

Enwerem explained that an unidentified man, said to be from the northern part of Nigeria, had run amok and killed a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself. He said some aggrieved youths immediately went for reprisal attacks. This he said led to some other persons sustaining various degrees of injuries.

According to Enwerem, the report came to the Imo police headquarters not long after the incident occurred and the commissioner of police deployed anti-riot policemen who stopped the incident from spreading further.

“Reports to police showed that a yet to be identified northerner ran amok at Akokwa community and used weapons to attack and kill a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself,” he said.

Enwerem said the problem has been brought under control, adding that normalcy has returned to the area.

A witness had told newsmen that the girl killed was hawking snacks when the northerner suddenly chased her till she ran to an elderly woman for protection.

The witness added that the man attacked both the girl and the woman with shovel resulting to their immediate death. He said that the killing sparked off reprisal attack by the youths and the killing of the attacker, while some others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Sources say police and other security agencies deployed to the community are still there as at press time to prevent the clash from spreading.
