Twin brothers butchered their mother to death and stabbed their father and brother because they tried to stop them joining ISIS, it is alleged.

Khalid and Saleh Al Areeni, 20, attacked the family and stabbed their 67-year-old mother, named as Haila Al Areen, to death, the Saudi Arabian government said.

They lured their mother into a store room and stabbed her several times in the capital Riyadh.

The pair chased their brother on to a rooftop where they stabbed him after they attacked their father, 73, using a 'cleaver and sharp knives'. They were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

According to Mirror.co.uk, the security authorities received a call at 1:12am on Friday about an utterly heinous crime committed by Khalid and Saleh Al Areeni. 'The twins stabbed their mother, 67, father, 73, and their brother Sulaiman, 22, in their home. 'Investigations revealed that they lured their mother to the storeroom and stabbed her several times.'

But the medical Director of Effa Nkwanta Hospital, Dr. Kwau Ntodi in an interview with Joy News correspondent Francis Whajah denied the report. He said the lady could have died even if the incident had not happened because she had a ruptured uterus.

Her death, he said, could not have been as a result of the movement from the hospital to another. The medical officer who attended to the deceased on arrival said the baby had already died before they arrived at the hospital.

Today Thursday 30^th June, 2016, just few hours ago, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued Certificate of Return to Samson Ogah following court order that Okezie Ikpeazu should vacate the Office of Governor of Abia.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has advanced reasons for its decision to issue a Certificate of Return to Mr Uche Ogah who came second at the last Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in Abia State.

He also said "if the court tomorrow orders a reversal of the action, INEC would not hesitate to do its bidding".

The court said with immediate effect without wasting of time, we should issue him Certificate of Return and that is what we have done – to obey the court order. If the court tomorrow issues another order, we would obey the same. By the grace of God, I am the INEC Commissioner in charge of South East. I’ll do the same thing if the court orders us to do so. If court says we should issue the same certificate to another person. In this case, court ordered us to issue a Certificate of Return to the person who won the election and that is Uche Ogah. I was the person who gave the Certificate of Return to Gov. Ikpeazu as he was declared winner. Now, the court has said otherwise. One thing we know is that we are not above the law and we cannot disobey the laws of the land. After the court, another person we obey in our land is God and my conscience is my God. Another thing that guides us is the court and we must obey its order with immediate effect. If you were in the court that day, and I urge you the media, to go and study the court ruling very well, it was wonderful; it was direct”, he said.

Speaking in the same vein, INEC’s Director of Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzi, had earlier stated that the decision followed an order by an Abuja Federal High Court directing INEC to immediately issue Certificate of Return to Mr. Ogah. Justice Okon Abang of the court had Monday asked INEC to issue the Certificate of Return issued to Mr Ogah.

Recall that on Monday 27th June, 2016, The Federal High Court Sacks Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for failing to pay per­sonal income tax promptly as and when due for 2010 and 2011 in line with Section 24(f) of the 1999 Constitution. Justice Abang, had ruled that on the account of fake tax returns during the primaries, Mr Ikpeazu, ab initio was never qualified to run in the PDP primaries as a governorship candidate.

He (Justice Abang) consequently ordered the Chief Judge of the state to swear in Uche Ogah as the substantive Governor of Abia State.

We hope and believe Mr. Uche Ogah will be more better than Okezie Ikpeazu.

Shocking! Man Returns From Prison To Meet Wife With Another Man's Child

It was double shock for Pritchard Ndlovu, who just returned from prison to meet his wife carrying another man’s child.

Pritchard Ndlovu, a Bulwayo, Zimbabwean man returned from an eighth-year jail term only to meet his dear wife with another man’s child.

As if the pain was not enough, Sitheni Sibanda further denied the man as her husband because he stained himself by going to jail, according to Zimbabwe News Online.

The woman further showed she was serious by suing the ex-convict for disturbing her peace and love for her new man, Innocent Masuku.

At the Bulawayo civil court, Ndlovu said he was shocked when he returned from prison to find his wife with a baby. Ndlovu got into trouble in 2008 after he was caught with copper.

In her response, Sibanda said she fell for the new man when she became desperate for a man to take care of her while Ndlovu was in jail.

She said: “While Pritchard Ndlovu was in prison I met and started a romantic relationship with Innocent Masuku even though I had not formally informed the respondent that I intended to terminate our customary union and start a relationship with someone else.

“This was largely because the children and I were near destitutes as no one was looking after us since I was unemployed. As a result of my relationship with Masuku, a child Bonginkosi Zinhle was born.”

She told the court that after the birth of the child, she went to Nlovu’s family to inform them that she was no longer interested.

“I had moved on with Masuku but Ndlovu after his release approached me several times wanting to salvage the relationship. I am no longer interested in him.

“On 10 April he came to where I now stay with Masuku and chased after him with an axe. As a result of that incident, I am now living in fear and urgently need the court’s protection,” she added.

Ndlovu did not deny the claim but said it was because he was angry over the betrayal by his wife. He said: “When I went to her place of residence I was delivering food for the children. “It was unfortunate that on the day in question I met Masuku and an altercation arose after I asked him why he impregnated my wife. When I took the axe my intention was not to strike him but to scare him off,”.

The magistrate, Sheunesu Matova, while ruling on the case, warned Ndlovu to stop disturbing the woman. He was also ordered never to visit her again.

A week ago, Vimla Vaghela, an Indian reportedly beat her spouse so hard for refusing to have sex with her that he died. The woman is now to spend her remaining life in jail.

BREAKING NEWS: Federal High Court Sacks Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, For Guilty Of Tax Evasion

Today Monday 27^thJune, 2016, The Federal High Court Sacks Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for failing to pay per­sonal income tax promptly as and when due for 2010 and 2011 in line with Section 24(f) of the 1999 Constitution.

The Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja annulled the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue a certificate of return to Samson Ogah, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, who contested the governorship ticket with the governor.

The court held that Mr. Ikpeazu was guilty of tax evasion and was therefore unqualified to have contested the 2015 governorship election in the state.

The court also ordered the governor to vacate office immediately, and hand over to Mr. Ogah, owner of Masters Energy, who came second in the PDP governorship primaries in Abia.

How the case Initiated

Two members of the PDP had accused Mr. Ikpeazu of failing to pay per­sonal income tax promptly as and when due for 2010 and 2011 in line with Section 24(f) of the 1999 Constitution, which states that “It shall be the duty of every citizen to … declare his income honestly to appropriate and lawful agencies and pay his tax promptly.”

In suit no. FHC/ABJ/ CS/1086/2014, dated Decem­ber 22, 2014, and instituted at the Federal High Court, Abuja, two individuals, Obasi Eke and Chukwuemeka Mba, had asked the PDP and INEC to disqualify Mr. Ikpeazu from contesting the governorship election.

The plaintiffs contended that Mr. Ikpeazu was not fit and proper, having failed to pay his personal income tax for two years in line with the demand of the Constitution of Nigeria.

They further asked the court for “A declaration that the 3rd de­fendant (Mr. Ikpeazu), having failed and/or refused to pay his personal income tax promptly as and when due for the years 2010 and 2011 in compliance with the mandatory provisions of Section 24(f) of the CFRN, 1999, as amended, as well as Paragraph 13 of Part IV of the Electoral Guidelines for Primary Elections 2014, is not a fit and proper person to contest the gubernatorial election of Abia State in the 2015 general election, and is accordingly disqualified from contesting the election.”

They also asked for an order barring the PDP from presenting Mr Ikpeazu as candi­date for governor in the 2015 election.

Other reliefs sought by the plaintiffs included an order barring INEC from accepting Mr. Ikpeazu as Abia State PDP governorship candidate for the 2015 election.

They also requested a consequential order that the candidate at the PDP primary election of De­cember 8, 2014, who polled the second highest number of votes cast at the said elec­tion should be pronounced the rightful candidate of the party for the governorship election in Abia State.

Buhari Begs Niger Delta Avengers To Stop Attack

The activity of the Niger Delta militants has reduced the production of oil in the country thereby affecting it economically.

Within the week, President Muhammadu Buhari sends a strong plea to members of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) to stop the havoc on oil and gas pipeline in the country.

According to Vanguard report, President Buhari on Friday, June 24 pleaded with the militants in God’s name to stop their attack.

The militant group has claimed responsibility for series of destruction on oil facilities in the Niger Delta region and has vowed to continue with the attack until zero oil is produced in the region.

The president noted that many militant groups were operating in the region and that some of them were armed with sophisticated weapons similar to what Boko Haram was using in the north east.

Nigerian Army kill 10 Boko Haram Terrorists, Rescue 5000 Hostages

Nigerian troops have reportedly rescued over 5, 000 Boko Haram hostages and killed ten of the terrorists in several clearance operation in the North East.

Report said one Civilian JTF member was killed, a soldier, policeman and another Civilian JTF member were injured during the encounters, while arms, ammunition and logistics equipment in large quantities were recovered from the terrorists.

The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, confirmed the rescue operations in a statement.

He said: “Troops of 21 Brigade and Civilian JTF weekend conducted a fighting patrol to Zangebe, Maiwa, Algaiti and Mainari villages in which they killed 6 Boko Haram terrorists and wounded several others," he said.

“The troops also liberated over 5,000 persons held hostages by Boko Haram terrorists and recovered 5 motorcycles and similar number of bicycles”.

“Similarly, troops of 7 Division Garrison Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) II, in conjunction with some of elements of Mobile Police Force and Civilian JTF today also conducted Boko Haram terrorists clearance operations at Masu Yiwa, Ladin Buta, Bazaka, Kesa Gala, Tabla, Fahinde, Shirori, Gizina, Maska Aribe, Maska and Maska Lawanti villages, all in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State," Usman said.

He further stated that “during the clearance operations, the troops encountered Boko-Haram terrorists at Maska Lawanti in which they killed 2 terrorists and recovered 2 motorcycles."

He said: “Unfortunately, we lost 1 Civilian JTF, while a soldier and 1 Mobile Policeman were wounded in action. The body of the heroic Civilian JTF and the wounded soldier and his police counterpart has since been evacuated to Maiduguri.

“While we commiserate with the families of the departed Civilian JTF, we wish to state that the wounded are in stable condition and responding to treatment.

“In a related development, troops of 192 Battalion, 26 Task Force Brigade and some vigilantes also embarked on fighting patrol along Kusarha-Zalidava general area today (Saturday)."

He said the patrol team encountered some of the terrorists around Zalidava-Weige villages in which they killed two of them and recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with registration number FN 132125, a belt of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition containing 42 rounds.

Charles Okah Denies Escape From Kuje Prison, Explains Why Inmates Thought He Was Involved

Charles Tonbrah Okah, detained leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) reported to have escaped from custody during a jailbreak at the Kuje Maximum Security Prison on Friday, has denied that he escaped as being reported . Okah's denial was contained in a statement issued by his lawyers, First Law Solicitors, on Sunday.

Signed by Timipa Okponipere, the statement said Okah had no involvement in the jailbreak, which occurred at about 7.00pm on Friday.

According to Okponipere,  the MEND leader was quarantined in an isolated room in the Kuje Prison Clinic for a suspected Lassa Fever infection when news of the incident broke. The lawyer attributed Okah's alleged involvement in the jailbreak to his popularity among the inmates of the prison.

"On account of his popularity among the inmates, word quickly spread that our client was among the two inmates who escaped by scaling the 25- feet-high Kuje Prison fence.

"It took almost 24 hours for the inmates and prison authorities to realize that our client had not escaped from the Prison.

"Our client has further instructed us to notify all Nigerians and the international community that, God willing, and without prejudice to his ongoing trial, he shall triumphantly walk out of the Kuje Prison gates as a free and vindicated man,"  the statement said.

The ongoing crisis in the party stemmed from the removal of Sheriff as the Chairman at a convention held in Port Harcourt, River State.

After his removal, a caretaker committee was headed by Makarfi was set up to oversee the affairs of the party. But rejected the move, arguing that his removal violated a court order issued in relation to the party’s convention, which he also claimed nullified every decision taken at that convention.

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) will on Thursday morning take over the assets of three companies belonging to politician Ben Murray-Bruce and his brothers.

The assets are being seized following the failure of Senator Murray-Bruce and his brothers to settle an N11 billion loan owed Union Bank and acquired by AMCON.

AMCON was established on July 9, 2010, as a key stabilizing and re-vitalizing tool for stabilizing the nation’s financial system.

Its enabling law empowers it to acquire non-performing loan assets of Nigerian banks at fair values and then put them to economic use in a profitable manner.

Mr. Murray Bruce and his brothers, using their companies, had between 2005 and 2007 borrowed various sums of money from Union Bank.

After they repeatedly defaulted in paying back, AMCON purchased the loan in 2011 to save the bank from collapsing.

AMCON is now seizing the assets belonging to the three companies used in securing the loan – Silverbird Productions Limited, Silverbird Showtime Limited and Silverbird Galleria Limited.

The properties include those at 133, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, Plot No 1161 (Silverbird Galleria), the plaza at Central Area Cadastral Zone AOO, Abuja, and the magnificent structure located at Abonnema Wharf Road and Abali Park in Port Harcourt City of Rivers State.

The planned takeover followed the June 17 interim orders granted by Justice Cecilia Olatoregun-Ishola of the Federal High Court, Lagos, in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/790/16 – Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria & 3 Ors. v. Ben Murray Bruce & 4 Ors.

The order allows the Receiver/Manager to take possession of the said properties.

AMCON had on April 18 appointed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Muiz Banire, the receiver/manager over the sprawling properties.

Named as defendants in the suits are Senator Murray-Bruce, Guy Murray-Bruce, Michael 

Murray-Bruce, Guy Murray-Bruce and Jonathan Murray-Bruce, who is the senator’s first son.

An AMCON insider said Mr. Banire had concluded arrangements to take over the assets on Thursday morning (today).

According Naij, Senator Murray-Bruce could not be reached this morning, to comment for this story. His known telephone line failed to connect. He is also yet to reply a text message sent to him.
