How To Update/Upgrade Your Android Phone to Android Marshmallow 6.0 – Latest Updates For Android Phones

Android Marshmallow was officially launched on September 29th, arriving on the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P handsets. The first phones to upgrade to Android Marshmallow were the Google's existing Nexus handsets, the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6. After some days, Android 6.0 was officially rolled out to existing Android handsets.

Note : Android M update will be rolled out to other Android handsets from the past couple of years. If your phone is more than two years old, don't get your hopes up - chances are it won't receive an update to Android 6.0.

How to check if your Android phone is ready to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and install the OTA update on your mobile.
September 29th, 2015, Android 6.0 was officially rolled out to existing Android handsets, here's how to check if your phone is ready to upgrade.
First, go to the settings menu on your Android phone. On most Android mobiles, you simply need to scroll down to 'About phone' at the very bottom of the menu and give it a tap.

Finally, select 'System updates'. This will check for Android updates automatically and prompt you to download and install if one is found.

Some Android phones follow the same steps, but wording or positioning will be slightly different. For instance, on some mobiles the option is called Software update instead of System updates.

If your Android 6.0 update is ready, accept and wait while the OTA package is downloaded and then installed. This will involve a phone restart, at which point your handset has been upgraded to Android 6.0.

Congratulations your Android phone is now updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow!

OTGstands for On the Go and what that implies is that devices with OTG support USB On the Go. Meaning that with OTG supported devices you can easily use USB devices directly on them, USB devices like your flash drives, printers, scanners etc. without necessarily needing a PC to transfer your files, print and scan documents.

You need a compactable OTG cable for that and some companies even include these cables as part of accessories on your purchases for OTG supported devices or you can get them separately sold in the market.
